Ma'alaea Properties, LLC, is an environmentally responsible land investment and development company. The partnership consists of four close friends from Stockton, California. As home builders and land planners, they have each earned extensive acclaim with award-winning designs that integrate the needs of natural environments and local communities.

Steven J. Kikuchi, a resident of Waikapu on Maui, represents the Ma'alaea Mauka development. As a registered landscape architect with 30 years of experience in land development planning and urban design, he has won numerous national awards. Kikuchi considers Maui home and therefore has a strong interest in maintaining the integrity of the island.

The other principals in Ma'alaea Properties, LLC include Mike Atherton, a partner in Atherton Homes and AKF Developments and owner of a major coffee plantation in Nicaragua where rainforest sustainability is a priority, Bill Filios, a partner in both Atherton Homes and AKF Developments, and Larry Anderson, the founder of residential development company Anderson Homes.
